SECTION VII: General Cart Usage & Handicap Flag Policy For the safety of members, guests and protection of the golf courses the following cart usage rules must be followed: A. General Cart Usage 1. Members must keep golf carts on the path as much as possible. 2. Carts will not be allowed inside any roped off areas. 3. For safety reasons, it is not permitted to operate a golf cart on severe slopes, along lake banks and between sand bunkers. These areas must be avoided at all times. 4. Carts must be kept on the path around every teeing ground and all putting greens. 5. Carts must remain on the path on all par 3’s. 6. Course management reserves the right to restrict all cart traffic when excessive heat, moisture stress, new turf, or other weather-related or maintenance related conditions create extreme safety issues, or which would result in any cart traffic causing serious damage to the course. On such days the course will be designated “Cart Path Only” for all players, including those qualified individuals with a handicap flag. If at any time it is apparent these conditions exist, please call the golf shop for more information. 7. Carts must travel to and from the club via the roadway. B. Handicap Flag Players with medical disabilities may request a handicap flag from the Director of Golf. A handicap flag on a golf cart signifies that the driver has a disability or temporary injury that makes walking to their ball a hardship. To be eligible for a handicap flag the individual must follow the procedures outlined below. 1. Assignment of Handicap Flags Handicap flags will be issued only to those individuals who have a State Issued Disabled Permit or Physician’s note. The appropriate forms must be completed and submitted along with the appropriate documentation from the State. No exceptions will be made. Handicap flags will be issued by the Golf Professional Staff.
