Letter from the President

The Fiddlesticks Ladies 9 - Hole Golf Association is determined to make this 2020 - 2021 season better than ever. We are striving to bring Fiddlesticks women together. If you are a new Fiddlesticks member, a renter, first time golfer, played 18 holes for many years and want to step back and enjoy 9 holes, maybe our group is what you are looking for. We have an exciting season planned with golf, group lessons, social events and look forward to renewing old and establishing new friendships. The Fiddlesticks 9 - Hole Ladies want you to be part of the Fiddlesticks family and feel welcome. We kick off the 2020 - 2021 season November 2 nd , with a 9 - hole round of golf followed by our opening luncheon. Please make a reservation by calling the Golf Shop at: 239 - 768 - 1114 to sign up for golf and lunch!

A NDREW F ARRELL , PGA

Andrew Farrell joins the Golf Professional Staff as an Assistant Professional after serving the memberships at Monroe Golf Club in Pittsford, NY, Rock Creek Cattle Company in Deer Lodge, MT, and Inverness Club in Toledo, OH. He grew up in East Syracuse, NY, and studied Professional Golf Management at State University of New York at Delhi and graduated in 2013. He has valuable experience instructing all levels of players. In his free time he enjoys golfing, camping, and enjoying the beaches in Florida. He is looking forward to a fantastic season. Registration for Clinics 9 - Holer Clinics will be offered various dates throughout the season. To ensure proper clinic planning and set - up we ask that you register 24 hours before the date of the clinic.

You will use the same website to register for clinics as you do for weekly events and tournaments.

Article I – Name

The name of the organization shall be known as the Fiddlesticks Ladies ’ Golf Association Nine Holers (FLGA 9 - Holers)

Article II – Purpose

The objectives of this association shall be to create and maintain an interest in golf and its activities sponsored by the Ladies ’ Golf Association 9 - Holers and to organize weekly golf tournaments and other FLGA 9 - Holers activities for the benefit of all members.

Article III – Membership

FLGA 9 Hole membership is comprised of Fiddlesticks equity, associate, charter, annual and renter golf members who remain in good standing by paying FLGA 9 - Holer dues as set yearly by the FLGA 9 - Holer Executive Committee, club dues and any and all assessments imposed by the Fiddlesticks Board of Directors.

Article IV – Handicaps

New members shall establish a Fiddlesticks Club handicap by posting not less than five (5) adjusted and current eighteen (18) hole scores or ten (10) adjusted and current nine (9) hole scores. New members may play on ladies ’ day but may not compete for prizes until a handicap has been established, unless they possess a U.S.G.A. verified handicap index from another club or association.

Article V – Officers

The officers of the Fiddlesticks Ladies ’ Golf Association 9 - Holers shall be President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. The elected officers shall appoint additional chairwomen or solicit volunteers from its members to fill the duties of other functions deemed necessary for the efficiency of the association.

Article VI – Executive Committee

The executive committee, referred to as the FLGA 9 - Holer Board, shall consist of the elected officers. The current Past President shall be an ex - officer member. Duties of the executive committee are to formulate and determine operating policies.

Sample matters of operating policy; include determination of yearly dues, appropriation of monies, local golf rules, golf competitions, prizes, luncheon, club house activities and other golf related matters. All other matters, such as changes to by - laws, will be presented to the membership for discussion and voting.

Article VII – Meetings

Business meetings will be held on or about the first Monday in November and the last Monday of March. Informal golf meetings will be held as necessary.

Article VIII – Golf Season

The FLGA 9 - Holers golf season shall begin prior to the first Monday in November and continue weekly until approximately the last Monday in April. The annual luncheon and awarding of prizes for year - long events will occur on the closing Monday in April or as deemed necessary to change by the Executive Committee. Officers will be nominated by the nominating committee: consisting of three FLGA 9 - hole members in good standing and the Past President. The Past President will serve as chair. If the Past President is unable to serve, then an immediate Past President will serve. A slate of officers to be nominated must be offered to the membership by the last Monday in February and posted on the ladies ’ FLGA bulletin board one month prior to voting at the end of the year luncheon in April. Each officer shall serve for a two - year term. An officer filling an un - expired term shall serve until the end of that term. Upon the resignation or permanent absence of any officer except President, the President shall name an officer pro - term until the nominating committee can present nomination for a new officer to the membership for election, and a successor is duly elected. Article IX – Election of Officers

Article X – Officers

The FLGA 9 - Holer President shall preside at all meetings of the association and the Executive committee. She shall be an ex - officio member of the Board and advisor member of the Executive Committee for two years following retirement from office. The President shall be responsible for all Chairpersons knowing their duties and performing them satisfactorily. She shall familiarize herself with parliamentary procedure so as to properly conduct business meetings. She shall be authorized to sign checks in the absence of the Treasurer. She shall keep a cumulative loose - leaf book containing annual reports of all officers. This book shall be passed on to each succeeding President. The President will also serve as the Membership Chairwoman. The Vice - President shall assist the President in whatever executive duties the President assigns her. She shall perform the duties of the President should the President resign or be absent. The Vice - President shall serve until the nominating committee presents nominations for a new President to the membership for election. The Vice - President shall be a member of the Executive Committee. She shall also serve as the Golf Chairwoman of the Nine Hole Invitational. The Secretary shall keep records of proceedings of business meetings and of Executive Committee meetings. She shall handle all correspondence. In her absence a Secretary pro - term shall be named by the President. She shall preside at meetings in the absence of the President and Vice - President. The Secretary ’ s records are to be kept separate from the President ’ s annual reports and are to be passed on to each succeeding Secretary. The Treasurer shall collect all monies belonging to the FLGA 9 - Holers membership. She shall maintain, in writing, amounts of money collected and appropriated for golf prizes, luncheons and other purposes and provide each chairperson with a memo of appropriation for their respective functions. The Treasurer ’ s report shall be given at the opening luncheon and at the end of year luncheon, at business meetings, or any time upon request of the Executive Committee. Accounts shall be audited in the absence of the President or Secretary.

The Treasurer ’ s reports are to be kept separate from the President ’ s annual Reports, and are to be passed on to each succeeding Treasurer. The Treasurer shall assist in preparing preliminary budget figures for the following year and she will keep on file the tax identification number. The Golf Chairwoman , who also serves as Vice - President, shall, with the Executive Committee, prepare an Annual Calendar of Golf, subject to the approval of the Fiddlesticks Golf Committee. She shall be assisted by the Golf Professional in conducting weekly golf activities, including FLGA 9 - Hole tournaments, and in posting all notices, score sheets, and other pertinent information (records of golf events played, winners of each, and prizes awarded). The Membership Chairwoman , who also serves as President, shall oversee the automatic renewal in September of each current member, unless the member notifies the membership chair. A notice to this effect will be published in the Piper. A list of all new equity members will be supplied from the office, she will communicate with each lady to see if she desires to join FLGA 9 - Holers. She shall keep an up to date written list of all members and communicate such information to the Treasurer and the Pro Shop for an accurate listing of members eligible to play in FLGA 9 - Holer weekly events. Working with the Pro Shop staff person responsible for the FLGA 9 - Holer events, she will attempt to ensure that all new members are introduced to the general FLGA 9 - Holer membership and receive information that will assist them in entering in weekly events. These By - laws may be amended at any regular meeting of the FLGA 9 - Holers or at any special meeting of the Association called for such purpose by the affirmative vote of those present. Notice of proposed amendment or amendments and the substance thereof must have been set forth in writing and have been posted on the Club bulletin board one month prior to such meeting.
